The Water's Boiling With Action

This is some of the Central Gulf’s greatest fishing all year.  From mid-November thru mid-December the fall king mackerel run occurs.  These smokers are hard fighting pelagic fish that roam across the hard bottom and wrecks holding schools of sardines, threadfin, and blue runners to name a few..  With only two king rods and a bait rod you can catch fish as big as 50 lbs.  The action never seems to end with these toothy fish sky rocketing behind the boat, drags smoking as they run, and some of the most intense light tackle fishing.  Also, there is an abundance of fish that roam with the kings that always show their face during the season.  You may hook into a barracuda, blacktip shark, bonito, spanish mackerel, or even a sailfish!  The trolling action in the gulf will be bar none this fall.

Well offshore we are expecting to have our sights on the gag grouper.  With the colder months the gags will be munching on the largest live bait you can find.  A huge grunt or a live blue runner dropped on a reef may produce that 40+ lb. fish everyone loves!  Our full day or longer charters will be experiencing the best grouper bite of the year as the fish make one last run at stuffing themselves for the lethargic months.  Another great fish offshore during these months will be the blackfin tuna.  Much like the kings the blackfin will be working their way through our waters searching out free meals.  The most effective tuna tactic is to find the shrimp boats.  On our long charters we will find the shrimpers 40+ miles offshore before the sun rises using radar.  Once we find a shrimper, we drift live baits through the cull or bycatch that the shrimper discards early in the morning.  Our clients always love the 30-40 minute battle of a blackfin on alight tackle rod.  This is some of the prime fishing time for the Gulf, quit wishing lets go fishing!

With our 2006 32 foot Sabalo the run to fish 50 miles offshore is a breeze. Our boat rides comfortably with plenty of open shaded seating for six anglers. No matter how far offshore, we can take you there!
